ورفعت جماهير سيلتيك لافتات كتب عليها “الحرية لفلسطين”، و”النصر للمقاومة”، وذلك خلال مباراة الفريق السبت أمام نادي كيلمارنوك، وانتهت بفوز سيلتيك بثلاثة أهداف لهدف.
يشار إلى أن جماهير سيلتيك الذي ينتمي إلى مدينة غلاسكو، تعرف بتأييدها للقضية الفلسطينية، ورفعت شعارات مشابهة إبان العدوان الإسرائيلي السابق على قطاع غزة.
ويرتبط هذا التأييد بتاريخ سيلتيك الذي تأسس على يد مجموعة من المهاجرين الإيرلنديين الذين يدينون بالعداء لبريطانيا.
